October 9th - 6 PM - Gallery 51 (51 Broadway, Denver)
"As an artist, I work hard to develop pieces that are both physically aesthetic and mentally stimulating. The process begins with found carcasses and bones. Once the bones have been through a rigorous cleaning process and are lacquered, I lay them out and begin to imagine new creatures. Through hours of assembly and disassembly, I reach a finality that satiates me and what I feel the original owners of the bones would appreciate as well. Once a creature is born, I take into consideration the feelings I am trying to convey to the viewer and attempt to mount and paint said creature appropriately.
My goal is to breathe new life into the deceased animals as we go through this metamorphosis together, and give them a chance to live again through art."
